Egypt’s military leadership council today gave newly promoted Field Marshal Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, the man who assisted in the overthrow of the country’s first democratically-elected President, its blessing for him to run for the Presidency.
Although it is not yet clear whether he will actually make this run for the Presidency, this move by the Egypt’s Supreme Council of the Armed Forces is essentially an endorsement of him to illustrate to him the support he would receive.
Sisi is expected to announce later today whether he will run for Presidency.
