New research has recently come to light that suggests that during World War Two, the Nazis were looking into the idea of using malaria-carrying mosquitoes as weapons. In January 1942, Nazi scientists at the infamous Dachau concentration camp may have planned to use offensive biological warfare on Germany’s World War II enemies. Researchers stated that Nazi scientists wanted to release the insects over enemy forces by way of aircraft. Fortunately, the plan was never carried out.

According to Yale University Professor Frank Snowden, British and American troops wouldn’t have been affected by the alleged attack because they were inoculated against malaria. The use of chemical and biological weapons was banned in 1925 due to the Geneva Protocol, but whether or not Hitler abode by this is unclear.
